Market traction
Funded stage, customer count growth, public case studies with verifiable revenue outcomes, and YoY retention as disclosed by the vendor or reconstructable from public filings. 88 points across the pillar.
We tested every serious CRM on the market against a 312-point rubric, rebuilt the list with our 14-operator panel, and kept exactly 88. Below: the shortlist that 312,000+ growth teams use to stop comparing and start closing.
The flagships of the Q1 2025 rebuild. Every row below scored 90+ on the 312-point rubric and cleared the 14-operator panel. 78 more vendors sit beneath the fold — published in the full ranking.
The reference implementation. The operator panel rated its pipeline reporting and Sales Hub handoff the cleanest in the category, and it remains the only CRM where the free tier is genuinely usable past 50 seats.
Scored 96.4 across market traction, operator experience, integrations (240+ in the marketplace), and a documented 11-month median payback for Series B SaaS buyers per our 2024 user survey. Penalty applied for opaque enterprise pricing above 200 seats.
Lost the top spot for the first time since 2022 — not on capability, but on time-to-first-deal for a 25-seat team. Still untouchable above 500 reps, still the deepest AppExchange in the category.
Scored 94.1. Highest sub-score on integrations (AppExchange depth) and the only vendor with a documented reference architecture for regulated industries. Penalised on operator experience for the Lightning migration tax.
Three quarters on the panel shortlist, now a top-three finish. The relational data model is the closest thing the category has seen to a Notion-style rethink since the spreadsheet CRM era.
Scored 92.7. Highest sub-score on operator experience (9.4/10) — the panel's single most-cited tool in the 2024 user survey. Penalised on integrations while the public API stays read-mostly.
The most-deployed CRM on the W23 and S24 Y Combinator onboarding programs — held its position by refusing to bloat. Pipeline view remains the cleanest default in the category.
Scored 90.8. Strong on time-to-value (median 6 days to first closed-won deal) and on the buyer ROI pillar. Capped short of the top three on reporting depth for RevOps teams above 50 reps.
Showing 4 of 88 ranked vendors. The full Q1 2025 CRM ranking includes 78 more tools, plus the 14-operator panel's written verdicts on every row.

Funded stage, customer count growth, public case studies with verifiable revenue outcomes, and YoY retention as disclosed by the vendor or reconstructable from public filings. 88 points across the pillar.
Time-to-first-deal, daily-active usage by reps, the cleanliness of the pipeline view, and the panel's unweighted usability vote across two weeks of shadow evaluation. 78 points.
Native marketplace depth, webhook reliability, the existence of a documented public API with maintained versioning, and live testing of the three most common flows (calendar, mail, dialer). 72 points.
Time-to-payback from our 2024 user survey of 4,200 respondents, total-cost-of-ownership at 12 / 36 / 60 months, and the panel's qualitative read on whether the product actually compresses the evaluation cycle. 74 points.

The CRM category is mature, which is why three of the top four finishers are repeats from Q4 2024. But the panel flagged four shifts worth knowing before you shortlist.
Attio's top-three finish is the first time a vendor built on a relational data model has cracked the top tier since the spreadsheet era. The panel's take: the spreadsheet mental model won the hearts of operators; the relational one is starting to win their pipelines. Expect two more entrants in this style by Q3.
Six "AI-native" CRM vendors submitted for Q1. None cleared the panel. The issue isn't model quality — it's that the data model underneath still behaves like a 2014 contact database with a chat window bolted on. We'll revisit when a vendor ships a real AI-first schema, not a GPT wrapper.
Three vendors that ranked in Q3 2024 dropped out of the top 30 this quarter as RevOps buyers consolidated onto either HubSpot or Salesforce. The mid-market is no longer a safe middle ground — it's a contested trench.
We raised the integrations pillar weight by 8 points after the 2024 user survey showed buyers cite "clean handoff to our data warehouse" as their #1 unmet need. Vendors who don't publish a versioned public API lost ground this quarter.

The number is the brand. We reject the long tail of mediocrity so you never have to read it.
Our evaluation cycle went from ten weeks to three once we committed to the Top88 shortlist. The list didn't replace our due diligence — it eliminated the noise so we could spend the saved time on the operators we'd actually have to work with.
