Top88Sites Q1 2025 — VENDOR BRIEF № 014

FOR VENDORS · SUBMISSIONS OPEN

We reject 84% of tools that ask to be listed. Here is how the other 16% get in.

Inclusion in a Top88Sites ranking is not a paid placement and not a popularity contest. Every vendor in every one of our 64 categories is scored on a public 312-point rubric by a panel of 14 working operators — and the panel is paid the same whether or not your tool makes the cut. Read this brief before you fill out the form.

§ 01 — THE PUBLIC RUBRIC

How 312 points are actually spent.

Every tool, in every category, is scored on the same four weighting buckets. We publish the rubric openly so submitters know what evidence to bring — and so anyone can audit a final score. The weights below are stable across 2024 and 2025.

  1. 01 108 pts

    Product Depth

Does the tool actually solve the named problem end-to-end, or does it paper over a single feature with marketing? We test against three real operator workflows per category and score depth-of-coverage, configurability, and the absence of dead-end states.

    ≈ 35% of total weight

  2. 02 87 pts

    Operator Signal

We weight hands-on use: anonymous interviews with 6–10 paying customers per finalist, a 30-day sandbox trial by two panel members, and reference calls with one former employee. NPS and G2 stars are read but not relied on.

    ≈ 28% of total weight

  3. 03 68 pts

    Market Traction

We read public growth markers — paying-customer logos, headcount trajectory, category-level search demand, retention cohorts where vendors will share them. We do not score ARR or revenue dollars; we score the shape of the curve.

    ≈ 22% of total weight

  4. 04 49 pts

    Editorial Fit

Does the tool earn a paragraph on our shortlist that a growth marketer could actually act on? We score clarity of positioning, honesty of pricing, the readability of the docs, and whether a reader could shortlist it inside a 4-minute skim.

    ≈ 15% of total weight

A panel of 14 operators scores each finalist independently; the median score is published, and disagreement above a set threshold triggers a re-test rather than a forced average. The rubric was publicly audited by Deloitte Digital in 2023 for ranking integrity.

§ 02 — FROM INTAKE TO LIVE RANKING

Five stages. Roughly ninety days. Then a quarterly re-test, forever.

Submissions close ten days before each quarter ends. The panel reconvenes the first week of the new quarter, and the rebuilt list goes live the following Tuesday — the same day the newsletter lands. Plan your GTM around those windows, not around us.

  1. 01

    Intake form

You submit the public form below with category, link, founder note, and three customer references. A human reads every submission within five business days.

    Day 0 – 5

  2. 02

    Eligibility screen

We verify the tool is live, in the stated category, and free of obvious disqualifiers (rebranded shell, parked domain, undisclosed paid placement history). Roughly 16% pass.

    Day 5 – 12

  3. 03

    Rubric scoring

Two panel members run a 30-day sandbox trial; the wider panel conducts six to ten anonymized customer interviews. Each of the 312 points is scored independently.

    Day 12 – 70

  4. 04

    Editorial placement

If you cross the cut line, our editors draft your entry — score, blurb, the one paragraph a skim-reader needs. You receive a draft for factual review; tone is not negotiable.

    Day 70 – 85

  5. 05

    Live ranking & re-test

The rebuilt list goes live the first Tuesday of the new quarter. Every tool on every list is re-scored the following quarter — inclusion is a recurring evaluation, not a permanent trophy.

    Day 85 – 90, then every 90 days

Quarterly windows: submissions close on the 20th of March, June, September, and December. Re-evaluations of incumbent tools run on the same cadence — no tool keeps its slot without re-testing.

§ 03 — SUBMIT YOUR TOOL

Send the form. We read every submission ourselves.

There is no sales-development team between you and our editors. The first reply comes from one of three named humans on our analyst desk — usually within five business days — and the email below is the same inbox we use for partnership, press, and edge-case enterprise questions.

  • SUBMISSIONS & EDITORIAL [email protected] The fastest route for new submissions, factual corrections, and re-rank requests. Read daily by the analyst desk.
  • PARTNERSHIPS & PRESS [email protected] Co-marketing, embargoed coverage, founder interviews, and speaking requests. Routed to the partnerships editor.
  • PHONE & HQ +1 (415) 555-0188 548 Market Street, Suite 32100, San Francisco, CA 94104. For vendors who need a signed NDA before sharing reference customers.

A FINAL WORD BEFORE YOU SUBMIT

The shortlist is the qualification. The submission is the audition.

We are not interested in scale for its own sake. Two of the strongest tools on any given list are companies under twenty people — picked because the product holds up, not because the team has a publicist. If your tool solves a real problem and the docs tell the truth, the form is waiting.
